EXPERIENCE

Small Business
Mike served as Helena's Business Improvement District (Downtown Helena) director for nearly 10 years. As a representative of property owners, retailers and nonprofits, he has valuable experience dealing with small business issues.

Real Estate
Entering the real estate business during the tumultuous 1980s, Mike quickly learned the importance of creative financing and competitive marketing. He distinguished himself as a competent, educated realtor, earning the reputation for hard work and diligence in service to clients. His work promoting the value of commercial opportunities in depressed central business district identified him as the clear choice to manage the district.

Professional Consulting
As a real estate broker familiar with local government, public finance and complex public-private partnerships, Mike is often called upon to consult on projects. Mike has experience with historic preservation projects, public hearing processes and community-relations assignments.

Corporate/Nonprofit Management
Mike understands the dynamics of group decision-making and can usher projects through the myriad of committee, board and general public bodies. He has served with distinction on the following boards: Helena Business Improvement District; the Helena Parking Commission; Downtown Helena, Inc.(retail association); Helena Board of Realtors; Grandstreet Theater, Helena Presents/Myrna Loy Center; Helena Area Economic Development Corporation; Helena Improvement Society; United Way, Carroll College Impact; Leadership Helena; City of Helena Tax Increment Financing Advisory Board; Lewis & Clark Historical Society (incorporator); Turman Works (fine arts); Montana Association of Realtors (Education Committee); and Great Northern Area Redevelopment Consortium.
